The Grinch Adjective Sorting Activity

This is a great way to explore adjectives that can be used to describe how the Grinch changes from the beginning to the end of the classic Dr Seuss story.

For this activity:

Familiarise yourself with the story of The Grinch, written by Dr Seuss.
The Grinch changes dramatically during the course of the story.
Brainstorm adjectives that describe the Grinch at the beginning of the story. Write them down on strips of paper.
Repeat the exercise to write down adjectives that describe the Grinch at the end of the story.
Muddle up the adjectives. Decide whether the adjective is a positive or a negative word.
