Christmas Labelling Challenge

Labelling is a key skill children use in subjects such as Science and Geography. This activity will help children to identify and write key vocabulary in these Christmas pictures.

For this activity:

Cover the words underneath the pictures and ask children to identify where each arrow is pointing.
When they have identified the body part, they should try sounding-out the word and writing it on a whiteboard.
Uncover the words for each picture and check the spelling.
Write each word correctly in the appropriate box.
If your children enjoy this, print a different Christmas picture and ask them to create their own labelling activity – this is a great motivation for using a ruler and practices fine motor skills.
