Celebrate the New Year with this musical paper plate shaker. This easy craft idea can be made by kids of all ages using simple materials and paper plates.

Materials:

• Two paper plates
• Some dried rice, lentils or broken spaghetti
• Lolly-pop stick
• Coloured paper
• Glue

Instructions:

1. Trace the numbers 2021 on the bottom of 2 paper plates.
2. Colour and decorate the numbers with markers, glitter or other art supplies. 
3. Flip over one paper plate and fill with dry rice. 
4. Apply glue around the edges of the plate and add a lolly stick at the bottom.
5. Stick the second plate on top of the glue and let dry. 
6. Choose coloured paper and cut 1/2 cm strips approximately 8 cm long. Roll each of the strips into a curl. 
7. Glue the curls around the edge of the plate. 
8. Add any other colourful decorations you want. Let the glue dry.
9. Enjoy your noise-maker on New Year’s Eve!
