For this activity:
- Start with a coin in the palm of the the child’s hand. Using only that hand, move the coin to the fingers and insert it into a piggy bank. This will build dexterity.
- Count the coins as they are dropped into the piggy bank to reinforce counting skills.
- Make this a fun game by hiding the coins, giving clues as to their whereabouts.
- As the child becomes more efficient, have them try to put a certain number of coins into the piggy bank within a given time frame. Can they put 5 coins into the bank in 30 seconds? Set your timer and see how they cope with the challenge.
