Number Recognition Match-Up

Recognising numbers and their order is an important early learning goal. This activity is great for number recognition and fine motor skills.

For this activity:

You will need: lolly stick, clothes pegs, bag, markers and paint (if you want to paint the lolly sticks).
On a lolly stick, write the numbers from 1 to 10.
On each clothes peg, write a number from 1 to 10.
Put the clothes pegs into a bag and jumble them together. Ask your child to pull out a clothes peg and read the number. After correctly identifying the number, ask them to find the same number on the lolly stick. Attach the clothes peg to the stick, hiding the matching number.
Continue choosing clothes pegs from the bag and attaching to the lolly stick.
