Initial Sounds Match Up Activity
Using real life objects or toys for practising initial sounds is always a good idea. Children will love hunting for objects that match the initial sounds they are learning.

For this activity:
- Either print letter cards, buy wooden or plastic letters or make your own hand-written cards.
- Select a number of letter.
- Find objects with initial sounds that match the letters you have chosen.
- Muddle-up the objects and letters and ask your child to match them together, based on the initial sound.
- Challenge your child to try and hear the other sounds in the word and write them down.
- Once they are confident with the initial sound, ask them to hunt around the house and find other objects that start with the initial sounds.
