Play Dough Balls for Fine Motor Skills

For this activity:

  1. Break off pieces of play dough and make sure the pieces are quite small and soft.
  2. Roll the play dough into small balls using the thumb and index finger. This can be a challenging fine motor skill to master, but it is well worth it.
  3. Draw circles on a whiteboard or piece of paper and ask the child to place the  play dough balls into the middle of each circle.
  4. As the child progresses, challenge them to a timed session – how long does it take to fill all of the circles? See if they can beat their time each session.
