Phonetic Sound Scavenger Hunt
This fun scavenger hunt focuses on the initial phonetic sound of common words. Children will have fun hunting around the house for items!

For this activity:
- Choose an initial sound starting with ‘s’, ‘t’, ‘a’, ‘r’ or ‘c’.
- Practise writing this letter with your child until it is recognisable.
- Once they are familiar with the letter shape and the sound it makes, have them write the letter on 5 small post-it notes and find objects from around the house that start with that sound.
- Extension: write the name of the object(s) they have found and ask your child to circle the initial letter sound.
