Print the PDF game board and laminate, if possible, for multiple uses with whiteboard pens.
1. On slips of paper, write down the numbers (in words) from one to twenty-five and put them into an envelope.
2. Choose a coloured pen for each player. The youngest goes first to pick a number card out of the envelope. They read the number and write the number in order in the appropriate space on the grid using their coloured pen.
3. Continue taking turns choosing numbers and writing on the grid until all the numbers are drawn.
4. As you play, when a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line is completed, award points to each player:
- Three numbers in one row written by one player = 1 point
- Four numbers in a row = 2 points
- Five numbers in a row = 3 points.
5. Write the points at the bottom of the game board – use a tally if you want to practise this skill.
6. At the end, add up points for each player and see who the winner is!
