One fish two fish Estimating

Carry on the fun after reading Dr Seuss’s One fish two fish book with this estimating activity using fish crackers and a 100 square.

For this activity:

  1. Discuss the definition of “estimating”.
  2. Look at a bowl full of fish crackers and decide on a logical estimate.
  3. Circle the estimate on the 100 grid.
  4. Start to count the fish crackers by putting them into the 100 square.
  5. How close was the estimate? Was it too large or too small? What was the difference between the estimate and the actual number?
