Butterfly Symmetry Activity
The concept of symmetry can be confusing for young minds. It is great idea to start with familiar objects that are naturally symmetrical. Randomly decorate one butterfly wing then challenge your child to match the pattern on the other wing.

For this activity:
- Randomly decorate one side of the butterfly picture with stickers, stamps or markers.
- Work on recreating the same pattern on the other wing.
- Carefully discuss what “mirror image” means.
- Cut out the butterfly and fold both sides together along the line of symmetry – do they match?
