This Valentine's Day themed maths activity is a fun and easy way to practise number recognition and simple addition from 2 to 12.

Materials:

• 2 dice
• Coloured paper and markers
• 11 Valentine’s chocolates, sweets or other items that will fit inside the hearts 

Instructions:

1. On the coloured paper draw hearts with the numbers 2 – 12 written inside each one. 
2. Roll the two dice and add the numbers together. Find this number on the board and cover it with a chocolate or sweet. 
3. Continue rolling the dice until all of the hearts are covered.
