Master the concept of number doubling using our simple painting activity! 

For this activity: 

1. Use poster or acrylic paint, preferably in bright colours. 
2. Find a piece of paper (any size will do), fold it in half and then unfold again.
3. At the top of the paper, write your focus number in the sentence. For example, “Double 5 =”.
4. On one half of the paper, add enough think paint spots to equal your focus number, e.g. “Double 5” would require 5 paint spots.
5. Fold the paper in half, pressing down on the paint spots. 
6. Open the paper and count how many paint spots there are. Write the answer at the top of the paper after the “=” sign. 
7. Repeat, with different focus number.
