This is a simple, yet fun maths activity. It will help young learners with number recognition and addition.

Try to find small Christmas objects (baubles, candy canes etc) to help with the counting and your child will learn one to one correspondence at the same time.  

For this activity:

1. For younger children, use fun Christmas sweets such as candy canes as manipulatives to physically add the numbers together.
2. Colour each bauble on the tree the correct colour, according to the chart at the bottom.
3. If you have older children, you can encourage them to create their own colour-by-number worksheet using maths questions.
